Like the legendary phoenix, every few billion years the Megastructure site is burned to ash, cleaned, rethought, gutted, sold for scrap, sunken into a swamp, burned down again, dehydrated, made into a popular cereal for children, and finally rebuilt, larger and more ambitious than ever before.
